Born October 5 1958, in New York City, New York, a future astrophysicists was born. With having two siblings, making Neil the middle child. Sunchita deGrasse Tyson, his mother, was born 1928 and was a Gerontologist for the Department of Health, Education and Welfare, and Cyril deGrasse Tyson, his father, was born 1927 and was a sociologist. I see why Mr. deGrasse Tyson chose the fascinating journey in life!! He did have some amazing Influences who set some high expectations to achieve. Neil deGrasse Tyson has been star gazing and dreaming about what's out in the universe since the age of 9 where he went on a field trip with his school to Hayden Plantetaruim where he took on his first gaze at stars. Right then and there he decided astrology was going to be the rest of his life!!

Dr.Tyson has an abundance of degrees from an abundance of Universities all over the country, but before his many years spent achieving these degrees Dr. Tyson attended the Bronx High School of Science located in The Bronx, NY and graduated from there in 1976. Soon there after he started working towards his degrees which included "Harvard University" where he graduated in 1980 with a Bachelor Degree in the Art of physics, he also attended the "University of Texas at Austin" and graduated with a Masters in astronomy in 1983, Dr. Tyson then returned home to his wife where Dr. Tyson then earned a Doctorate of Philosophy in Astrophysics in 1989 and a PHD in astrophysics in 1991 from Columbia University. Dr. Tyson sure earned his spot as worldly famous Astrophysicists. This man has accomplished some very big things on his journey.

Throughout Dr. Tyson's amazing astrological career he is responsible for some major decisions in regards to our solar system. One of his most notable contributions was his declaration that Pluto (once considered the ninth planet), that Pluto should no longer be considered the ninth planet of the solar system due to the planet only meeting 2 of the 3 criteria in order to be considered a regular planet. Dr. Tyson was also awarded medals such as the NASA Distinguished Public Service Medal in 1994, the Shorty award for best in science in 2014. Tyson had also received a few awards for his bestseller books in regards to science such as "Astrophysics for People in a Hurry" and a TV Series Documentary called "Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey" which is a 13 part adventure that will transport you across space and time says Dr. Tyson.

A little fun fact about Dr. Tyson is that his favorite planet is Saturn because of the simple pleasure he gets when pulling out a telescope and looking at the only planet with rings in our solar system, Tyson says " My gosh here is a whole planet out there with a ring on it.. This man has achieved what some might think is unachievable but is not. Just takes hard work and dedication and i thank you Dr. Tyson for using your amazing knowledge of the world out there to bestow upon us and educate the uninformed.
